18 October 2006 - Holden Safety Recall
FUEL FEED HOSE REPLACEMENT RECALL VE / WM FITTED WITH V8 ENGINES. (Includes HSV Variants)
DESCRIPTION OF DEFECT:
- Holden has identified a condition where a fuel hose in the engine bay may develop a fuel leak and a fuel smell may become evident.
- Misalignment during hose assembly process at supplier plant may result in perforation in the fuel hose.
- The damaged location may not be visible as it is covered by outer sleeve / wedding band.
- Fuel smell and fuel expulsion may occur if the fuel hose is damaged.
RECTIFICATION:
- Replace the Fuel Feed Hose connecting the main fuel line and the injector rail located in the engine bay
VEHICLE RANGE:
- This rectification is required on a limited number of VE / WM fitted with V8 engines
that were produced from SOP to August 2006.
OWNERS CONTACT:
- If a customer's vehicle is within one of the ranges being recalled, the customer is urged to contact any Holden
- Retailer and arrange to have the rework carried out.
- Holden has allocated resources to ensure this campaign is conducted in a way which minimises inconvenience to owners.
- If customers detect a fuel smell in their vehicle, they should contacts their Holden dealer immediately and advise them of this condition.
