June 2005 - Saab 9-3 Sport Sedan & Convertible - Brake Vacuum Pipe - Recall Number 15019
Description of Problem:
Saab Automobile AB has established that a safety related condition might exist in certain Saab 9-3 Sport Sedans and Convertibles.
It has been established that the check valve, part of the brake booster vacuum pipe may not fulfil lifetime requirements. Over a period of time, the valve will deteriorate with the heat generated from the engine bay resulting in premature valve failure. A failed check valve will result in reduced or no brake assistance.
Rectification:-
A Saab service technician will replace the brake vacuum pipe on your vehicle with an improved version. The work will be performed free of charge.

MY 2003 to MY2005 Saab 9-3 Sport Sedans and convertibles are affected. The VIN can be seen on the plate located on the right hand bottom corner of the windscreen (when facing the front of the vehicle) or alternately can be seen on the registration label. The letter provides details of the recall and requests the customer to contact a Saab dealer to make a booking to have the appropriate work carried out.
