15 June 2005 - VZ/WL Brake Hose Clip Recall
Description of Problem:
A condition may occur where the front brake hose can slide out from the retaining bracket on the front strut. If the hose becomes detached, it may contact the tyre or rim resulting in a brake hose wear condition that could result in a brake fluid leak. This in turn will result as an increase in brake pedal travel or reduced brake effectiveness of the vehicle.
Rectification:
The Safety Recall is to install brake hose retaining clips to the front brake hoses.
Vehicle Range:
- VZ Sedan and Wagon
- VZ Light Commercial (excluding AWD vehicles)
- WL Sedan.

Owners of vehicles affected by this recall campaign will be contacted directly by letter to their recorded address. The letter provides details of the safety recall campaign and requests the customer to contact a Holden Dealer and make a service booking to have the appropriate work carried out.
Given the large number of vehicles involved we will also be advertising the recall in strategic newspapers this week
