Despite Australian manufacturing ceasing at the end of 2017, the Holden brand is here to stay.
Holden will continue to produce cars that New Zealanders love to drive - and will carry on providing new and upgraded variants from the 160 General Motors manufacturing plants around the world.
Already Holden New Zealand has announced the future expansion of our model lineup to include the gorgeous new Cascada, Astra and Insignia.
The Holden Astra GTC is a sporty 3dr hatch with a 1.6-litre turbocharged engine mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. The sport version includes leather appointed seats, heated in the front and larger 19" alloy wheels.
The Holden Cascada is a four-seater convertible with a sporty 1.6-litre four-cylinder engine and is the first convertible offered by Holden in five years. The Holden Astra VXR hot hatch version boasts a 2.0-litre turbo engine and sporty 20 inch alloys and premium leather appointed seats.
And the sophisticated Holden Insignia VXR combines a Holden-made 2.8-litre turbocharged V6 with a six-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive for a true sporty sedan performance.
We are lucky to have passionate people involved in our brand, and we love to support these people wherever we can. At the moment we are focused on Driver Education through the "Murph in Schools" programme and our association with FleetSafe. We continue to sponsor netball at all levels in New Zealand - from the elite Silver Ferns to grass roots clubs. The ever popular Lake Taupo Cycle Challenge gets us out and about with the growing number of kiwi cyclists. And our hearts are with Make a Wish as we help to put a little Holden sunshine in the lives of special children. We value these associations and aim to be part of community projects like these for another 60 years!
Holden vehicles will continue to be specially modified for local conditions at the iconic Lang Lang Proving Ground near Melbourne. The engineering and vehicle development team at Lang Lang are able to tune suspension, steering and drivetrain characteristics so that vehicles are better suited to Australia and New Zealand conditions and customers.
