Phone - Step by Step Instructions

Step 1
To ensure you make the most of your smartphone’s connection with the Holden MyLink system, there are a number of things you can do to keep you fully connected on the road.

First up, always ensure you are running the latest operating system for your phone and all your favourite apps are updated.

Step 2
Keep the apps on your phone updated.

When using apps, such as Pandora, ensure 'conserve battery' or 'screen timeout' checkboxes are disabled in the app's settings menu, this will provide a more seamless app experience.

Step 3
To connect either an Android or Apple phone, make sure you use the manufacturer’s genuine USB cable for the best functionality.

Android users may find it helpful to unpair and repair the device.

Step 4
Ensure you fully power off and restart your phone at least once a week. Smartphones need to be refreshed on a regular basis to purge and clean up their memory and also correct various other glitches that can affect their performance.

Step 5
If you have any problems with your phone connection, you might find that disconnecting the USB cable and unpairing the Bluetooth connection will help. Once you have disconnected everything, also try turning the phone off then on again before you reconnect and pair it with the MyLink system to give it a full refresh.

Phone - FAQs

There can be a number of factors that may influence the performance of your infotainment system when your phone and the myLink system are connected. We recommend you watch our 'Top Tips for Phone Connectivity' video tutorial located under the 'Phone' tab of this page to ensure you're getting the best connection between your device and the system as possible.
You can find a compatible phone list at www.holden.com.au/ownership-and-servicing/techconnect.
Check your mobile device operator’s manual for information, to switch on “discoverable mode”. Repeat the steps in the tutorial.
MyLink allows you to pair up to five different devices. These can be smartphones or other Bluetooth® enabled phones and even Bluetooth® enabled devices, such as an iPod® Touch.
While the Holden MyLink system has highly accurate voice-control software, it recognises a list of many commands as well as most names. However, at times there could still be names or words that the system cannot recognise.
Slowing your speech down can assist. If this still does not work, you can use the “Digit Dial” voice command. This allows you to speak numbers one at a time or in groups. For instance, you can say, “Digit Dial” and MyLink will instruct you to say one number at a time. This is the most accurate way of dialling with voice control.
If your phone fails to pair successfully with the system, turn your phone off. After a few seconds, turn it on and restart the pairing process.
Some vehicles may not be equipped with the Voice Control functionality. Please contact an authorized Holden Dealer for further information.
