Audio and Visual - FAQs

MyLink supports most smartphones and MP3 players that can be plugged in via the USB port. It also supports many different brands of USB flash drives.
MyLink supports song file formats including .mp3, .wma, and .acc name extensions. iPod® and iPhone® are also supported.
It is recommended that iPhone® be connected by USB cable to obtain the best functionality and performance.
MyLink can recognize up to five different Bluetooth® enabled devices.
It will recognise the devices in the order in which they are listed on screen. If a device listed isn’t in the vehicle, MyLink will recognise this and immediately pair with the device that is in the vehicle.
Simply access your settings to see the list of different paired devices. Scroll through the list to find the device you’re looking for. Alternatively, you can also press the “Push to Talk” button and say “Change Phone.”
Gracenote Technology is embedded into the Holden MyLink system and identifies the music you are playing via a USB connection or Bluetooth® audio streaming. Information such as the song title, artist, album, genre and cover art are displayed on the MyLink screen.
The time taken to index your music collection varies according to how many songs you have in your collection, the processing power and software of your device and the number of Apps you have open. To minimise the time for indexing ensure your software is up to date and unnecessary Apps are closed.
If your smartphone has sent a pause message to the MyLink system, you will see a play/pause icon on the touchscreen. If you don’t, try pressing previous or next track buttons or when safe, reinitiate play from your device.
Try to select previous or next track. If this does not work, disconnect and reconnect the device or restart the device.
If your iPod/iPhone has stopped playing music through the MyLink system, try to disconnect and reconnect the device or when safe, restart the device.
This can be caused by a number of factors. Try closing all Apps and restarting or unpairing and repairing the Bluetooth® connection. If this does not work try restarting the device.

Phone - Step by Step Instructions

Step 1
To ensure you make the most of your smartphone’s connection with the Holden MyLink system, there are a number of things you can do to keep you fully connected on the road.

First up, always ensure you are running the latest operating system for your phone and all your favourite apps are updated.

Step 2
Keep the apps on your phone updated.

When using apps, such as Pandora, ensure 'conserve battery' or 'screen timeout' checkboxes are disabled in the app's settings menu, this will provide a more seamless app experience.

Step 3
To connect either an Android or Apple phone, make sure you use the manufacturer’s genuine USB cable for the best functionality.

Android users may find it helpful to unpair and repair the device.

Step 4
Ensure you fully power off and restart your phone at least once a week. Smartphones need to be refreshed on a regular basis to purge and clean up their memory and also correct various other glitches that can affect their performance.

Step 5
If you have any problems with your phone connection, you might find that disconnecting the USB cable and unpairing the Bluetooth connection will help. Once you have disconnected everything, also try turning the phone off then on again before you reconnect and pair it with the MyLink system to give it a full refresh.
